Our User Testing Sessions

Summary

In order to test our prototype each individual group member was tasked with conducting at least one interview with another University of Maryland student. Each group member was encouraged to use our usability test plan document to assist and guide them while conducting their interview. All group members were required to ask their participants to complete the two tasks listed in our usability plan. The tasks required participants to use our prototype through the interactive prototype website Figma.

What We Learned

From our user testing sessions, we learned that our users would appreciate an application that they can use to easily find the materials that they need for class, in the cheapest way possible. Users expressed that they appreciated the simplicity of the interface, but some did experience difficulty at first with understanding the different features. To solve this issue, we would consider implementing a tutorial, or detailed labels, that pop up when a user first opens the app and logs in.

Future considerations we have for expanding our app is to combine it with ELMS, so that a user's courses can automatically pop up. Another consideration that we have is to add a feature that allows students to sell purchased textbooks/materials that they do not need anymore to other students at a discounted price.
